mind42 is a brilliant tool.
The important thing that Mind42 does is that it removes the barrier-to-trial that other mindmapping software present - either a purchase or installation of Java like Freemind does.

I am hardly arguing against Freemind - i love it - but very few corporate customers use mind maps at all - and they are the people who need it the most - cluttered schedules, criss-crossing tasks, multiple possibilties - things which cannot be nicely shown in rows and columns of text

Hence I think <strong>Mind42 best advertises the mind map concept</strong> to people who dont know about it.

This is something the desktop apps like Freemind cannot do in 60 seconds from concept to working map!

The quality of the app is excellent and it has a free export to Freemind format.

Hence it is a risk-free serviceto advertise mindmaps.

I hope more corporate bosses start using mindmaps.
I have not used a smartphone to access mind42.com, but if it works, that route will help a lot of people in the corporate world get their plans sorted out in a neatly structured way.

Thanks for a great tool!!

@Giang: Some of the questions about Spaaze are being answered in the GetSatisfaction community by now: http://getsatisfaction.com/spaazelabs
But generally during the Beta points can always be refilled. The main purpose of the points though is to track usage of Spaaze, to be able to figure out a commercial model that would work.

Regarding Mind42: Of course there is the possibility to loose everything, like if Europe would burn down and both the server and the backup is destroyed. But that's very unlikely :)

Hi!
I'm trying the Spaaze out. I've seen the 1000 given on Spaaze. Is that all I can use? I mean, am I limited to posting in the given points? How does it really work?

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

I've just started using mind42 since yesterday and I totally love it! It's awesome. I've planned to use the mindmapping for a lot of my study or reading in the future. One concern though! Is there possibility that I'll lose all my maps that I've been created. :)? They are all on the web, what if someday they all crash and disappear?

Thanks!

@Sorin: That was the only way to do it previously and still is the default. When selecting PDF the default is "no paper format" which means that whole map gets put into 1 PDF file with 1 page. This page doesn't correspond with any real paper size, but just fits the map. When printing such a file the PDF ready will scale the page to fit the actual paper size you are printing on.

First, just let me say this: Great software!
I just started using it this morning, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Sorry I must comment on an old post, but I have a suggestion for the PDF export: would it be possible to scale the map so that it would fit entirely on one page of the specified size?
I mean, being able to print a smaller version on one page, instead of the "normal" version on several pages that should be stitched together...

Hiya!

Looks like www.mind42.com is down.
Was working fine yesterday.

Interestingly, was looking up http://whois.domaintools.com/mind42.com and found most of the visits are from India...

Hi

Great app! Not new, but the simplicity puts it ahead of the other services, esp for non-pro users. Like Google!

Tried the export feature. I get the XML files fine, but it seems to be incompatible with other sites which import MindManager or Freemind formats. I dont have Mindmanager of Freemind to test it out though.

Ein Kompliment für mind42. Ich teste gerade diverse Mindmap-Tools (u.a. Bubbl.us, Wisemapping, Mindmeister) und bin von Ihrem Tool bislang angenehm überrascht.
