After the transition last week mostly everything ran fine, except some smaller bugs (and one bigger bug were all attachments have been missing) which got fixed with this release. Namely:
- Fixed missing attachments
- Fixed certain cases where map couldn’t be loaded with an error
- Repaired link preview bubble within published maps
- Fixed missing updates for the birdview
- Added missing link preview thumbnail in Safari 2
- Fixed note attachment textbox within IE7
But there also have been general improvements. We’ve enhanced our Import/Export capabilities and changed the system images get loaded. Like this mindmaps containing many images should feel significantly faster. Also for scaled down images it’s now possible to see a full screen view of the image by clicking on the magnifying glass above the image.
Feedback as always appreciated! Either as a comment to this blog post, or in our Google Group.

Hi. Great work with the mind42 site. It is exactly what I was looking, something fast and simple.
Just a small suggestion. It would be nice if nodes could be automatically numbered. I think reading mindmaps where nodes are numbered is easier.

Sorry, but you’ve broken it for me.
Unable to access the map that was saved on your server OR load a backup as the second error intervenes. IE7 or Firefox.
“An error has occured
A critical error occured on the mind42.com server
Error loading map list / system error
We are sorry for the inconvenience, the event has been logged and the error will be analysed and corrected as soon as possible”

I have been attempting to logon to your mind42 programme for a couple of weeks without any success, Is the problem at my end or yours.
The programme seems to be very useful and I would appreciate a chance to use it. Regards Brian Watson

@doboloh & Brian:
Could you please send more detailed reports of your problems to mind42@irian.at
Particulary we would need to know what error message appears, or what happend (e.g. instead of getting into the application after login, or submitting the sign up form, you found yourself on the start page - such things). We need to know in what step you have been, what you thought should happen and what happened to understand the error.
@DrSnowboard:
I’ve already forwarded your case - we’ll check that.

Hi
Just checking your site. I noticed that I cannot move the nodes to wherever I need, as in MindJet and Mindomo. This is an essential property for mind mapping.
All the best,
Tal

Hi Tal,
Our mindmaps are automatically layouted with the possibility to shift the nodes a little bit arround. This is the way FreeMind does it as well. We know that free positioning is a major feature and we’ll work hard to find a solution which fits all needs (auto-layouted with collapsing to use the space efficiently versus no layouting at all to let the user manually do whatever the user wants to do)

Great tool, I just miss a way to talk to other users without gmail, kind of a simple list where you can write without link to the tree…

Still broken

is there a way to add freeform links from one node to another? I love the site but this is a key feature that I can’t find.

@DrSnowboard: Sorry for the delay, it should be fixed now. But unfortunately a mindmap of you got lost during the last update.
@Shawna: There is no such feature at the moment. But as it is the most demanded feature at all, it’s likely that this will be the first thing we implement after we’ve finished the Beta.
